Research
Our multidisciplinary research addresses the current and future challenges for our society, through engineering solutions.
Our broad range of research programmes are delivered by around 75 academics, researchers and doctoral students, using our excellent research facilities and producing world-leading research outputs.
The Chemical Engineering Department hosts the Centre for Doctoral Trainingin Regenerative Medicine (together with Keele and Nottingham Universities) and leads the National Interdisciplinary Centre for Circular Chemical Economy, involving 7 UK Universities and 20+ industrial partners. The Department is also a major partner in the Centre for Biological Engineering, a world-class research facility in healthcare engineering and cell technologies.
Our research is strongly linked with industry, including well-known global organisations such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Procter and Gamble.
