Mitigating Circumstances

The University operates a Mitigating Circumstances system through which students can notify Programme Boards of any exceptional circumstances which may have affected their academic work. Find out more about the Univeristy's Mitigating Circumstances process»
There are some instances in which CDS is able to provide supporting evidence for Mitigating Circumstances claims. However, we are not normally able to provide supporting evidence for students who have not had any prior contact with CDS.
The supporting evidence we can provide would be a factual account of a student’s contact with the service and the nature of the difficulties presented. We may only be able to provide evidence a student’s state of mind if we have had significant contact with them. We would normally expect to have sight of the student’s completed Mitigating Circumstances Claim prior to producing their supporting evidence.
Before contacting us please read the Loughborough University Mitigating Circumstances Policy. This will help you decide whether we may be able to provide evidence for your claim.
