Your future career prospects
Helping you to succeed in your chosen career is incredibly important to us - and it shows. At Loughborough University we're renowned for our connections with global companies and the employability of our graduates.
We understand that studying overseas is a significant investment for international students and their families, which is why we feel you should receive a strong, long-term return on your investment.
We take our responsibility to prepare you for the international job market very seriously and support you in your ambition of finding the right job during and after your studies.
Connecting you with global companies
All undergraduate programmes offer an optional work placement during your studies. Our UK and international students are offered placements, and often employment afterwards, at companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Rolls Royce, Balfour Beatty and many more.
We have three careers fairs per year and the October Fair is the largest university careers fair in the UK with 190 employers, from all sectors; Finance, Banking, Engineering, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Retail, IT and Telecoms. We offer you the opportunity to talk to over 300 employers per year on campus, at fairs, employer evening talks and workshops with staff.
Helping you to find a job
The Careers Network runs 100s of events centrally and in departments alongside your academic study. Our International Careers Adviser, Sue Mason, is here to support our international students. They organise specific events and resources, including:
- Careers Network page for international students
- International Students Careers Blog
- Finding you work during and after your studies
- Marketing yourself to employers in your home country and in the UK
- Preparing you for work after your studies for undergraduates and postgraduates
- Post-study work immigration advice
- Putting you in contact with international alumni networks
Where do our international alumni work?
Our international students go on to work at global and independent companies, both in the UK and in their home countries, during studies and after graduation. A number of examples can be found on our Careers Network website.
