The University has established Biodiversity Working Group. The remit of this group is to develop and steer delivery of the Biodiversity Action Plan for the whole University. There is also a Woodland Management Group which meets twice yearly and offers an opportunity for external stakeholders to comment on management of the woodlands and contribute their knowledge and advice.

A Woodland Management Plan has been created to support appropriate care of the woodlands.

Extensive surveying has been undertaken of the whole campus on all species and habitats.
